Hi,
I'd like to use the Re:load Pro to test a power supply that will be subject to large, short-duration current spikes.
The base current draw is <6A, but I'd like to be able to briefly draw 9A (for ~100-500ms periods).
I was thinking of:
- Putting another 0R05 resistor in parallel with R16
- Changing the settings in config.h for the new resistance and to allow a higher maximum current
Before I go doing this, are there any potential issues? I guess I'm sacrificing resolution for higher current, but that's fine in my case.
Thanks,
James
Hi,
What you're suggesting sounds fine, as long as you bear in mind the heating effects of higher current; the PCB traces aren't designed to sustain >6 amps.
